Who are we?
We are the mighty Red Logs! (Redlands Logan) That's who!
Veteran's cricket is one of the fastest growing sports in Australia! Why? There are a few reasons why, firstly, with age, we understand it is just a game after all! so it's more about enjoyment, comraderie, a bit of banter and a game played in good spirits. It is also an opportunity for players to enjoy a bit of 'bloke' time, and a support network for those going through a tough time. Sometimes cricket is secondary. "I only have my kids every second weekend so I need something to do on my free weekend, I get to hang out with blokes who I now call my good friends, we really do look out for each other" - Dave Redlands Logan over 50's started with a conversation between the legendary Rod Rice who looks after the Red-Logs over 60's and is currently the QVC president, Shane Riley and Dean O'Donnell.
From humble beginnings the club has grown to a cricket club that can boast sponsors such as Greg Chappell Cricket Centre and over 100 over 50 members! In 2023 the club intends to field between 6-8 teams across the three divisions of the QVC over 50 competition. |
